How to Clean Your PC
Before doing anything, make sure that you have the needed materials to do the job:- glass cleaner
- screwdrivers
- antistatic wrist guards
- cotton
- lint free cloth
- rubbing alcohol
- tweezers
- compressed air
- Check your manual.See if your owner´s manual provides instructions on how to properly clean your computer. It may contain helpful information to make your job easier.
- Turn off the computer.This is for practical and safety reasons.
- Detach the side cover of the computer´s case.Use the screwdriver to remove the screws attaching the side cover to the case. The motherboard and other hardware are found here. These parts are the most common victims of dust accumulation.
- The dust we blast.Use the compressed air to blast accumulated dust in the motherboard. You may have to remove the add-on cards attached to thoroughly clean it. The slots in the motherboard are also favorite lurking places of dust so you will also have to clean it.
- Clean the fan.Point the compressed air in your computer´s fan. It is a good nesting area for dust. Check also the heat sink for dirt that may have escaped your initial blast.
